On the Dynamics of the Family axd(x − 1) + x
In this paper we consider the dynamics of the real polynomials of degree d + 1 with a fixed point of multiplicity d ≥ 2. Such polynomials are conjugate to fa,d(x) = axd(x−1)+x, a ∈ R{0}, d ∈ N. Our aim is to study the dynamics fa,d in some special cases.
متن کاملOn sums and products in C[x]
We will prove a theorem below (Theorem 1), which holds for the polynomial ring C[x] unconditionally; but, under the assumption of a certain 24-term version of Fermat’s Last Theorem, it holds for Z+, the positive integers, as we will explain below. This unconditional result for C[x], for which there presently is no analogue for C, R, Z or Fp (though, M.-C. Chang has a related sort of result for ...
متن کاملOn some properties of the hyperspace $theta (X)$ and the study of the space $downarrowtheta C(X)$
The aim of the paper is to first investigate some properties of the hyperspace $theta(X)$, and then in the next article it deals with some detailed study of a special type of subspace $downarrowtheta C(X)$ of the space $theta (Xtimes mathbb I)$.

there has been a gradual shift of focus from the study of rule systems, which have increasingly been regarded as impoverished, … to the study of systems of principles, which appear to occupy a much more central position in determining the character and variety of possible human languages. there is a set of absolute universals, notions and principles existing in ug which do not vary from one ...

Using a sum-product result due to Bourgain, Katz, and Tao, we show that for every 0 < ≤ 1, and every integer k ≥ 1, there exists an integer N = N( , k), such that for every prime p and every residue class a (mod p), there exist positive integers x1, ..., xN ≤ p satisfying a ≡ 1 x1 + · · · + 1 xN (mod p). This extends a result of I. Shparlinski [5].
